Standalone Sunday

screen-shot-2017-02-12-at-11-27-09

Hey guys. it’s Lois, back with another Standalone Sunday. I’m really sorry I didn’t post anything yesterday. I wasn’t feeling too well at all, I get really bad motion sickness that can last for weeks and it began again yesterday. So, I took a little break from posting which I haven’t done in while now but I’m back today.

Standalone Sunday is a weekly meme created by Megan @ Bookslayerreads. Every Sunday we make a post about a standalone book, so one that is not part of a series. There is an awful lot of focus are books that are part of a series, so it is always nice to feature a standalone book.

So, here is this weeks Standalone Sunday book, Extraordinary Means by Robyn Schneider.

Published: 26th May 2015

Synopsis:

“At seventeen, overachieving Lane finds himself at Latham House, a sanatorium for teens suffering from an incurable strain of tuberculosis. Part hospital and part boarding school, Latham is a place of endless rules and confusing rituals, where it’s easier to fail breakfast than it is to flunk French.

There, Lane encounters a girl he knew years ago. Instead of the shy loner he remembers, Sadie has transformed. At Latham, she is sarcastic, fearless, and utterly compelling. Her friends, a group of eccentric troublemakers, fascinate Lane, who has never stepped out of bounds his whole life. And as he gradually becomes one of them.”

My Comments:

I saw this book at the end of 2015 in my local bookstore and instantly put it on my books to buy list. But I kept putting off buying the book for a long time. David surprised me at Christmas that year with my very own copy of this book after he had heard me talk about it a lot over a couple of months.

I was so happy to have a copy of this book and I had finished it within about 3 days. I loved it, every time I put it down I was thinking of when I would pick it up again to continue the story. I plan on rereading this book again this year if time lets me. This would be the perfect book to be made into a film!

There you have it this weeks Standalone Sunday. Comment below if you have read this book or plan on reading this book as well as your thoughts.
